We post Police, Fire, and EMS calls as they’re dispatched, based on real-time scanner traffic in Howard County/Kokomo.
That means:
#1 — You do some stupid stuff in public.
#2 — A witness sees it and calls 911.
#3 — Dispatch sends it out. often not putting out all the information they received.
#4 — We hear it and post it.
Simple as that.
⚠️ We’re not a news agency — never claimed to be.
⚠️ We don’t go to scenes or verify calls.
⚠️ We just share what’s heard over the scanner. That’s it.
These calls are based entirely on what callers tell dispatch, which means:
🚨 Sometimes the caller is right.
🚨 Sometimes they’re wrong.
🚨 Sometimes they are suffering from mental illness.
First responders go out and figure things out from there. If an update comes over the radio, we’ll usually share it — but not always. And if it’s big enough for a press release or media story, we’ll post that too.
